In order to redefine the Medicare and healthcare, the Indian Institute of Paramedical Sciences started functioning under the Annai Indra Gandhi Memorial Educational trust, from the year 2006.Initially the Institute got affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, by Introducing 2-year Diploma Courses in various subjects coming under Paramedical Sciences. The institution also conducted six months as well one-year courses recognized by the Government concerned through THADCO, Mahalir Thittam and Nehru Yuva Kendra. It is worthwhile to mention that the Indian Institute of Paramedical Sciences i.e. IIPMS, Tuticorin also got affiliated and approval for conducting 2 years Diploma in Nursing Aide from Tamil Nadu DR.MGR Medical University, Chennai. To build dedicated Paramedics the IIPMS also got affiliated with the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and Vinayaga Mission University, Salem for Conducting Various Courses leading to Bachelor’s degree in Paramedical Sciences. It may not be out of place to mention here that IIPMS, Tuticorin also conducted various Paramedical courses by getting affiliation with the Alpine University.
It is a new Era in the history of Indian Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Tuticorin, which has become the skilling Partner with Medhavi Skills University, recognized by UGC, NCVET, which had also entered into collaboration with NSDC and being the member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), to provide education in various subjects coming under Paramedical Sciences, leading to award of, Bachelor of Vocational in different related subjects. It is a prestigious feeling for the IIPMS, Tuticorin, to be the Skilling Partner of Medhavi Skill University, which is the 1st University in India to offer (Fully) learn & Earn Degree with industry, 2nd University in India to partner with DGT for work Integrated ITI, 2nd University in India to become the Awarding body of NCVET, MSDE, 1st University in NEI to partner with NSDC International for overseas placement and 1st University in NEI to Implement NEP-2020 from AY-2022, for providing Paramedical Education in B.VOC in Nursing care, B.VOC in Lab Technology, B.VOC in OT, B.VOC in Radiology, and B.VOC in Dialysis with effect from March 2025,to make the students; “To serve while learning, Learn while serving”.
